Mar 26, 2013 Nikon coolscan V ED driver for windows vista 64-bit. I have installed the latest software from Nikon to work with my Nikon Coolscan V ED. It is version 4.0.3. I have loaded this software on my Windows Vista 32 bit laptop and the scanner driver loaded without a problem. Feb 02, 2018 Nikon Coolscan 5000ED - Scan not matching Preview. Well as of today I can answer yes - the scanner works under Windows 10 Pro x64! And no - there are no issues!!! First, if you're running a scanner that needs a FireWire (IEEE 1394) card as the Coolscan LS4000ED does, Windows 10 Pro (x64) will happily accept ShineStars’s FireWire Adapter card (18.99). I have a Nkon Coolscan V film scanner. I cannot get Windows 7 to recognize the device. Do any of you know if this is compatible to the Windows 7 64bit OS?

I would suggest you to install latest drivers for your Nikon scanner.
Follow these steps to update the drivers:
1. Open Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Click Continue. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type
the password, or click Continue.
3. In the list of device types, click the kind of device, and then locate the specific device that
is not functioning.
4. Right-click the device, and then click Properties.
5. Click the Driver tab.
6. Click on update driver, click OK.
